Visiting the Nursery

Our Nursery and Display Gardens are open by appointment to visitors for the purchase of plants. You will find quiet and peaceful surroundings for stress free shopping and enjoyment of our many gardens. From the street it does not look like a nursery and there is no signage. Venero Gardens is the "SECRET GARDEN PLACE" that you will be happy you found. The service is great and you will get knowledgeable help. Jay and Dory will help you find what you're looking for -- and if you have no idea what you want, we'll be happy to make suggestions. If you are starting a new garden we can help you pick plants that look great together or help you find just the right plant for that empty space that's needy. In order to maintain a schedule and to keep this free service a reasonable offer, we must impose a time limitation which we can talk with you about. skip ahead to directions

How To Make an Appointment

The best way to make an appointment is to phone us at 952-474-8550. Feel free to call Monday – Saturday 8AM to 5PM (Central Time). Phoning is best for same day appointments. You can also make an appointment via Email – dory@venerogardens.com. We always try to answer your calls, but occasionally we aren’t able to. Please leave a message, speaking slowly. We will call you back usually within the hour. If you don’t hear from us within a short time, please phone us again.

As your appointment time approaches, we will be watching for you. Feel free to phone us also, to let us know you are here. If you are in the neighborhood and see us out in the yard, feel free to stop in (during our business hours, of course). Please come and speak to us as you arrive - even if we are with another customer. You may wish to make an appointment to avoid a long wait. If you don't mind waiting, you can enjoy browsing our large selection of potted plants. Feel free to pick out plants and we will help you as soon as we can - or you may also make selections for pickup later.

With the widespread use of cell phones, making a spur-of-the-moment appointment is always welcome. If we are not here, we ask that you be respectful and leave immediately.

NURSERY HOURS FOR THE 2012 SEASON

April 27 – September 15:	Monday through Saturday	8AM to 5PM
	Occasional Sundays	1PM to 3PM

We will not be open on holidays, including Memorial Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Is this your first visit?

We want you to feel comfortable when shopping at Venero Gardens - don't let the 'Open by Appointment' policy deter you. Most home based nurseries operate in this manner - as many are part time and have other jobs. Our nursery is our full time job, however, and we operate in this manner because we can offer you the best service, answer your questions and help you select plants.

We don't look like a nursery from the street and we have no signage. We are always out somewhere in the yard during business hours. We'll watch for you, too, as your appointment approaches. But feel free to phone us if we don't quickly appear. Most first time shoppers are quite overwhelmed because there is so much to see and so many plants. Remember, we're here to help.

Directions

We are located approximately two miles west of Excelsior on Hwy 7.

Option 1: (This is the safest way to get back on Hwy 7 when you leave)

Proceed west on Hwy 7 bypassing Excelsior. About 1 mile west of Excelsior (on Hwy 7) you will come to traffic lights at the intersection of Hwy 7 and 41. Take a right at this light. This is the entrance to a small shopping center (Cub Foods). Take an immediate left onto the frontage road and follow this to the stop sign where the road 'T's' at Yellowstone Trail. Take a left (west) on Yellowstone Trail. Proceed about 1 mile. Yellowstone takes a sharp right turn - now you are on Seamans Drive. Proceed to 5985 Seamans Drive. Our driveway is on your right (east). Please do not park in the street.

Option 2:

Proceed west on Hwy 7 bypassing Excelsior. About 1 mile west of Excelsior (on Hwy 7) you will come to traffic lights at the intersection of Hwy 7 and 41. Staying on Hwy 7, proceed 1.2 miles past this intersection. (Hwy 7 and Hwy 41) Turn right on Eureka Road. Proceed on Eureka and take the first right - which is Mann Lane. Take a right on Seamans Dr and proceed to 5985. Our driveway is on your left. Please do not park in the street.
